Counter-Strike 2 Terminology
Common terms, slang, and jargon used by Counter-Strike 2 players, traders, and service providers. Knowing them makes it easier to judge a service before you use it.
- Float Value
- A numeric value between 0 and 1 that sets a skin's wear condition, which affects its appearance and market value. Learn more about Float Value
- StatTrak
- A weapon skin variant that counts the number of kills made with that weapon and usually sells at a premium. Learn more about StatTrak
- Blue Gem
- A Case Hardened skin pattern with a lot of blue coloring, which collectors prize and pay well above normal market prices for. Learn more about Blue Gem
- Trade Hold
- A 7-day waiting period Steam applies after some trades. It blocks immediate resale or transfer and is meant to reduce fraud. Learn more about Trade Hold
- Prime Status
- An account tier that gives access to Prime matchmaking and exclusive item drops, and generally means fewer encounters with cheaters. Learn more about Prime Status
- Faceit
- A third-party competitive matchmaking platform with skill-based ranking, tournaments, and its own anti-cheat, separate from official CS2 servers. Learn more about Faceit
