Cookie Policy

Effective date: April 14, 2026

SkinJudge uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the Platform secure, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. This policy explains each category and tells you how to manage your choices.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to recognise your browser on subsequent visits and store small pieces of information such as your language or theme preference. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, work in analogous ways and are covered by this policy.

Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary

Required

Required for the Platform to work. Includes security cookies such as CSRF-protection tokens. Cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Examples: csrf_token

Functional / preference

Optional

Remember your preferences so you do not have to set them on every visit. Includes your selected language and theme.

Examples: lang_pref, locale_dismissed

Analytics

Optional

Help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform so we can improve it. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics where possible. When cookies are used, they do not identify you personally.

Examples: _ga (Google Analytics, anonymised), plausible_data

Third-party embeds

Optional

Set by third-party services embedded in the Platform (e.g. embedded social widgets). These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties.

Examples: Set by embedded content providers

How to Control Cookies

Cookie banner. When you first visit SkinJudge, you can accept or reject optional cookies via the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie preferences link in the footer.

Browser settings. All modern browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent core features from working.

Opt-out tools. For analytics cookies you can also use browser extensions such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on. Opting out through the browser does not affect our first-party functional or session cookies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated via an updated effective date and, where appropriate, a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
